Welcome to my thinned-down myresize download page. I used to have a fun test gallery here for you to try the code out on, but it was getting old and so is this code, for that matter. So download it. It works. Mostly.
myresize evolved out of a need for me to resize my photos in Gallery. It will navigate your Gallery and resize original photos, the accompanying "sized" images, and thumbnails. EXIF data will be preserved for JPEGs, provided Jhead is installed and working correctly in your Gallery.
When resizing images, myresize does not adjust Gallery's internal image crop mark points accordingly. What does this mean? If you use Gallery's "Edit Thumbnail" to zoom in on photos for thumbnails and highlights, the values in the Gallery database that tell it where you zoomed in will not be adjusted when you use myresize to shrink your photo. If you decide to rebuild your thumbnails, or make one of these images the album highlight, either the image will zoom in to the wrong place, or worse, not be created at all. This cannot easily be remedied. I plan to fix this, but have not yet had time.
It likely will. But probably not by me. It almost certainly never will.
Gallery v2.x does what you want already, so having myresize is unnessary.
